How To Thread A Massey Ferguson 12 Baler

Step 1: Park the tractor in a level location and secure the parking brake. Set the drive wheel levers and wheel speed levers to neutral.

Step 2: Attach the baler drawbar to the tractor and secure it to the lower link arms.

Step 3: Connect the baler’s ground-drive shaft to the tractor’s PTO shaft. This connection is located below and behind the tractor, at the rear. Secure the connection with the pins and safety chain.

Step 4: Pass the baler control lever chain around the differential and connect it to the chain connected to the baler control linkage. With the line from the differential connected to the linkage on the baler, the chain tension can be adjusted by either taking up or giving slack on the chain loop behind the differential.

Step 5: Connect the baler’s power takeoff (PTO) shaft and secure it with the pins and safety chain supplied. Connect the electrical wires to the baler, tractor and light kit. Power on the tractor and the baler should be ready to thread.
