1. Park the Massey Ferguson 165 Diesel Matic on level ground and engage the parking brake.
2. Loosen the transverse bolts on the rear brake drums.
3. Turn the star wheel adjuster clockwise to take up the excess slack in the brake cable.
4. Tighten the transverse bolts on the rear brake drums.
5. Pump the foot brake pedal a few times to check the brakes.
6. Adjust the star wheel adjuster until the brakes feel firm but not too tight.
7. Test drive the tractor slowly to ensure that the brakes are functioning properly.
