1. Park the Massey Ferguson 240 in an even and level surface. Make sure it is in neutral with the parking brake engaged.
2. Turn the regulator to the “choke” position, which should be a position marked on the regulator switch.
3. Turn the ignition key clockwise to start the engine.
4. Pump the primer lever located to the right of the gear shift lever, located next to the fuel filter, three or four times. This pumps fuel into the fuel lines.
5. Pull the choke lever outward to allow air into the engine and warm it up.
6. Push the choke lever inward to the “run” position when the engine has warmed up.
7. Turn the ignition key counterclockwise to off position once the engine is running.
8. Release the parking brake and drive away.
