The Massey Ferguson 240 front bucket can be used in a variety of ways, depending on the job you are doing.
General Use:
1. Engage the four-wheel drive and raise the front loader bucket.
2. Move the Power shuttle from forward to reverse, depending on the direction you want to travel.
3. When the bucket is in use, the tractor should be driven in reverse.
4. When the bucket is empty or ready for carrying a load, move the Power shuttle back to forward and lift the bucket slightly so that the carriage isn’t touching the ground.
Loading and Unloading Materials:
1. Push down on the bucket lift handle until the bucket is fully engaged with the ground.
2. Position the loader bucket according to the material, size, and weight of the load.
3. Use the Power shuttle to move the loader in either direction to guide the material into the loader.
4. Use the hydraulic lever to raise the loader up, thus lifting the material.
5. Use the Power shuttle to move the loader in the designated direction to unload the material. When the material is unloaded, move the Power shuttle back to forward and raise the loader back up.
Excavating Dirt and Rubble:
1. Engage four-wheel drive and raise the bucket fully.
2. Move the Power shuttle to reverse and drive the tractor near the area to be excavated.
3. Lower the loader bucket to the ground and angles the edge of the bucket for digging.
4. Use the Power shuttle to move the tractor back, away from the area to be excavated to keep from digging too deep.
5. Use the loader to scoop up the dirt or rubble and maneuver the bucket to deposit it elsewhere.
6. Repeat the scooping process until the area is completely excavated.
7. When the process is finished, engage the Power shuttle to forward and raise the bucket slightly so that the carriage isn’t touching the ground.
