1. Locate the engine at the rear of the Massey Ferguson 245 tractor.
2. Connect the battery cables to the terminals of the battery.
3. Lift the left side panel of the Massey Ferguson 245 with a ratchet wrench.
4. Remove the oil dipstick from the engine.
5. Pour in recommended oil into the dipstick tube.
6. Reattach the dipstick once the oil level is verified.
7. Insert the ignition key into the ignition cylinder, then turn the key to the right one-quarter turn.
8. Turn the governor knob clockwise until the engine starts.
9. Push the clutch pedal down with your left foot and engage the transmission by moving the shift lever into a gear.
10. To move the tractor, press down on the front wheel drive assembles with the heel of your foot.
