1. Place the Massey Ferguson 530 on a flat, level surface. This is to ensure that the brakes, when applied, will be evenly distributed onto the wheels.
2. Look for the brake fluid reservoir, which is usually located near the brakes on the back of the tractor. Make sure that the fluid levels are sufficient and refill if needed.
3. Locate the brakes on the Massey Ferguson 530. They are usually on the right side of the tractor, just behind the seat.
4. Turn the adjusting screw on the top of the brake with a wrench. Turning the screw clockwise will increase the tension of the brake and pressing the pedal farther down will increase the brake power. Turning it counterclockwise will decrease the tension, and pressing the pedal will decrease the brake power.
5. Once the tension feels good, start the tractor and check to see if the brakes are working properly. If not, repeat the adjustment process until the brakes are working properly.
