1. Inspect the condition of the backhoe before use. Ensure that all safety features are in good working order and ensure that all necessary safety features such as seat and steering wheel belts are in place.

2. Ensure that the backhoe is filled with an appropriate amount of fuel and that appropriate lubricants and fluids are checked and topped up if necessary.

3. Start the engine, allowing the backhoe to warm up and all controls to settle before starting to use it.

4. Move the levers and pedals to check the controls. The left pedal should move the right tracks forward and the right pedal should move the left tracks forward.

5. To use the backhoe, lower the arm onto the ground and ensure that it is in the correct position for the job.

6. Attach the bucket to the arm, making sure that the bucket is securely connected with the necessary attachments.

7. Engage the drive by using the power shuttle and begin to dig, using the controls and paying attention to the instruction manual for specific instructions.

8. Disengage the drive when done, and raise the arm to clear the boom and bucket before transporting the backhoe to another location.

9. Engage the park brake and turn off the engine before releasing the controls and exiting the cab.
