Tractor
1. Gather any necessary parts. Before you attempt to set the guidance on a Massey Ferguson tractor, make sure you have any parts that may be necessary, such as a steering shaft, steering wheel, steering stops, steering levers, or steering yoke, in order to ensure the job can be completed.
2. Park the tractor on a flat, level surface. Place the Massey Ferguson tractor on a firm, level area and make sure the brakes are set and the four-wheel-drive is disabled.
3. Check all connections. Ensure the connections between the tractor’s steering wheel to the tractor’s steering shaft are properly connected. Check all connections for loosened bolts or parts that may be worn out due to age or weather conditions.
4. Adjust the steering stops. This can be done by loosening the bolts and moving the steering stops in or out to adjust the adjustment. Be sure to check both sides in order to ensure the tractor cannot move in any direction more than the set limit.
5. Adjust the steering wheel. This can be done by tightening the bolt that connects the steering wheel to the steering shaft. Be sure to check the wheel is straight and it’s aligned with the tractor’s body before tightening.
6. Re-check all parts and connections. Make sure all the parts and connections have been securely re-connected and tightened before attempting to start the tractor. This can prevent future steering problems and help ensure the safety of the operator.
7. Start the tractor and test the steering options. After all connections and adjustments have been made, start the tractor and test all steering movements. Make sure the tractor is able to move the required distance without experiencing any stiffness or jerking movements. This will help ensure the guidance system is set properly.
