1. Drain the fuel tank. Place a drain pan or bucket beneath the fuel tank and use a shut-off valve, located on the fuel line, to empty the tank of gasoline.
2. Disconnect the fuel tank from the tractor. Locate the fuel tank mounting straps and disconnect the strap on the rear of the tank first. Then loosen the strap near the front of the tank. Lift the fuel tank up and away from the tractor body, allowing the fuel line and electrical connection to be disconnected.
3. Remove mounting bolts and the fuel tank. Removed the fuel tank mounting bolts and discard. Lift the fuel tank up and off of the tractor.
