How To Adjust Brakes On Massey Ferguson 165

1. Park the Massey Ferguson 165 on a level surface. Make sure you park the tractor on a surface that is strong enough to support the weight of the tractor.

2. Place the tractor in neutral and turn off the engine.

3. Jack up the rear of the tractor so that the rear wheels are off of the ground. Support the tractor on two (2) concrete blocks.

4. Remove the inspection plate from the transmission housing located at the back of the tractor, just above the differential housing.

5. Locate the adjusting nut on the adjustment rod. The adjustment rod is located in the lower left corner of the inspection plate.

6. Turn the adjusting nut clockwise to increase brake pressure or counterclockwise to decrease pressure. Turn only about one full turn at a time.

7. Spin the rear wheels to test the brakes. If necessary, repeat steps 6 and 7 until the brakes provide the desired pressure.

8. Reinstall the inspection plate and secure the bolts.

9. Lower the tractor off of the blocks and test the brakes on the ground.
