1. Check to make sure the clutch is free of debris.
2. Turn the engine off and remove the tractor’s air filter.
3. With the engine off, shift levers to disengage the transmission and neutral.
4. Push the clutch handle completely forward.
5. Remove the dust cover from the slave cylinder.
6. Loosen, but don’t remove, the locknut on the clutch lever using a wrench or ratchet.
7. Turn the adjusting screw clockwise until it bottoms out. Do not apply a lot of pressure.
8. Put the dust cover back in place.
9. Reinstall the air filter and start the engine.
10. Put the transmission in gear and press the clutch.
11. If the clutch is still too loose, repeat steps 4-10, this time turning the adjusting screw counterclockwise.
12. When the clutch is adjusted correctly, tighten the locknut, reassemble and test the tractor.
