How To Change Hydraulic Filter On Massey Ferguson 240

1. Park the Massey Ferguson 240 on a stable, level surface and kill the engine. Disconnect the negative battery cable with a socket wrench.

2. Position the drain pan directly under the housing for the hydraulic filter. Unscrew the retaining nut from the top of the filter housing with a socket wrench. Pull the filter and seal out of the filter housing. Place the parts on the drain pan.

3. Wipe the inside of the cylinder that held the hydraulic filter with a clean rag.

4. Rub a thin coat of oil on the filter seal. Insert the new hydraulic filter and seal into the filter housing.

5. Screw the retaining nut onto the top of the filter housing with a socket wrench.

6. Reconnect the negative battery cable with a socket wrench and test out the tractor.
