1. Park the tractor on a flat, level surface, in a well-ventilated area.
2. Raise the hood of the tractor and locate the oil-level dipstick and oil filter.
3. Place an oil pan beneath the filter and drain plug on the engine block, and remove the drain plug to allow the oil to drain out completely.
4. Unscrew the oil filter with an appropriate filter wrench. Take care when handling the filter, as it will be full of oil.
5. Clean off the area around the filter and drain plug with a rag, and wipe the new filter with a rag to remove any contaminants.
6. Apply a thin layer of engine oil on the gasket, and then screw the new filter into the engine securely.
7. Replace the drain plug and tighten to the specified torque, or until snug.
8. Use the dipstick to fill the engine with oil, adding small amounts of oil gradually until the level reaches the “MAX” line on the dipstick.
9. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
10. Turn off the engine, check the oil level with the dipstick and add additional oil as necessary.
11. Dispose of the used oil in an appropriate manner.
