1. Park the Massey Ferguson tractor on a flat, level surface, let the engine cool and then shut off the engine completely.
2. Put the parking brake on and then make sure that it is firmly held in place.
3. Look underneath the tractor and locate the hydraulic reservoir. This is usually found on the left side of the tractor near the rear axle.
4. Step down from the tractor and open the cap on the top of the reservoir. Make sure not to lose the cap.
5. Use a dipstick to measure the amount of fluid in the reservoir. It should read between the “FULL” and “ADD” markings on the dipstick.
6. If the fluid level is below the “ADD” marking, add hydraulic fluid until it is back up to the proper level.
7. Replace the cap on the reservoir and then get back on the tractor. Start the engine and engage the parking brake. Engage the hydraulic lift and check to make sure the fluid level does not drop.
8. Re-check the hydraulic fluid level after the tractor’s been in use to make sure that the level is still at the proper height.
