1. Ensure the fuel tank is full and all fluids are topped off.

2. Open the hood and check that all belts and hoses are secure and in good condition.

3. Disconnect the battery cables and check that the battery is fully charged.

4. Connect the battery cables.

5. Take out the spark plugs and check that the spark plug wires and connectors are connected properly and securely.

6. Insert the spark plugs and hand-tighten them into the engine.

7. Move the differential lock lever to the “unlocked” position.

8. Open the fuel shut-off valve.

9. Place the choke lever into the “rich” position.

10. Place the starter switch into the “start” position.

11. Engage the clutch and move the throttle lever to the “fast” position.

12. Observe the engine as it starts up, and ensure that there are no unusual noises or excessive vibrations present.

13. Allow the engine to warm up for approximately five minutes and slowly reduce the throttle back to the “slow” position.

14. If the tractor is equipped with a PTO, slowly engage the clutch to engage the power take off.

15. Once the engine has warmed up and all components have been checked, the Massey Ferguson 135 is ready to use.
