How To Start A Massey Ferguson 150

Tractor

Starting a Massey Ferguson 150 tractor requires a few steps. The most important is to ensure you’re in the correct seat before attempting to start the tractor.

1. Ensure the parking brake is engaged by pushing down the brake lever completely and turning the knob 180 degrees upward to lock it in place.

2. Push the clutch pedal all the way to the floor.

3. Insert the key into the ignition, turn it clockwise and keep it in the start position for approximately 2-3 seconds.

4. Now release the key and it should turn to the run position.

5. Move the throttle control lever to the fast position. This lever is typically located by the left side of the driver’s seat.

6. Move the choke lever up to the full position, which is near the top of the lever.

7. Push the ignition switch into the start position, and it should start.

Once the tractor is running, you can move the choke to a lower position and the tractor should begin to run and idle. Make sure the parking brake is always engaged until the tractor is put into gear.
