Tractors
Using draft control on Massey Ferguson tractors is a great way to maximize your planting and harvesting performance. To activate it, first move the draft control lever to the engagement position. Next, make sure the lift arms are at the desired height, as the draft control will maintain this height and only adjusts to changes in soil resistance.
Once you’ve determined the lift arms’ desired height, increase the tension on the draft control until you reach the desired setting. You can increase or decrease the tension based on the type of soil and terrain you are working on. It’s always important to make sure you are running at the correct tension.
You can also adjust the draft control position if necessary. For example, when working on a hilly terrain, the draft control needs to be set at a higher setting. If the draft control is set too low, the tractor could perform poorly or even slide down the hill.
Once you’ve adjusted the tension on the draft control to the desired setting and the tractor is working in the desired height, the draft control is now engaged. It’s important to check the draft control regularly, as it will make sure that your tractor maintains its lift arms’ height, regardless of changes in terrain.
When the job is done, make sure to move the draft control lever back to the disengaged position and make sure the lift arms are lowered before you turn off the tractor. This will ensure that your draft control is reset and ready for the next job.
