How To Remove A Massey Ferguson 165 Tractor Wheel

Most Massey Ferguson 165 tractors use 8 lug wheels, and each wheel is secured to the hub by six 3/4 inch bolts. To remove the wheel, you will need: an air wrench, a 19mm hexagonal socket, a jack, and jack stands.

1. With the front or back of the tractor securely lifted off the ground, use the air wrench to remove the six 3/4 inch bolts from the wheel’s hub.

2. Get underneath the tractor and disconnect the brake drum from the wheel hub by loosening the 19mm hexagonal nut, then remove the nut and separate the parts.

3. Fit the jack under the axle of the wheel to be removed and lift it, then fit the jack stands beneath the lifting points on either side of the axle and carefully lower the wheel until it is securely held by the stands.

4. Pull the wheel off the hub by carefully leveraging it with your hands and feet.

5. Remove the jack and jack stands and repeat the same process for any other wheels to be removed.
