What Is The Regineration Cycle On A Massey Ferguson Tractor

The Massey Ferguson tractor series utilizes a regeneration cycle which is a process of burning off the excess smoke and soot that builds up on the particulate filter within the diesel exhaust system. This process is completely controlled by the tractor’s ECU. During the regeneration cycle, the ECU commands the injectors to inject an extra shot of fuel at the same time as the normal fuel injection. This fuel mix will ignite and burn off excess particulates in the exhaust system, leaving the filter clean and efficiently working. Once the cycle has finished, the tractor will be returned to normal operation.
